What services does Advantage Therapy offer?

What can I expect from services at Advantage Therapy?  

Comprehensive and standardized assessments, customized treatment plans and effective carryover activities.  To keep you up to date on your child’s progress we also provide monthly progress notes. 

How long will my child need therapy?

The length of time in therapy depends on many factors such as severity of the delay, the frequency and consistency of therapy, and carryover outside of the therapy session.

How long is each therapy session?

Speech-Language/Reading therapy sessions average 30 to 45 minutes. Occupational therapy sessions average 45 to 60 minutes. Your therapist will make recommendations relating to appropriate frequency and duration of treatment based on the evaluation results.

What ages does Advantage Therapy treat?

Advantage Therapy specializes in Early Intervention as well as School Age and Adult services.

What are Advantage Therapy’s hours?

Our administrative office hours are Monday through Thursday 8.am. - 5 p.m. and Fridays 8a.m. -12:30p.m.  Our therapist’s schedule therapy appointments Monday through Friday 8a.m. to 5p.m

Will insurance cover my child’s therapy?

Each client should contact his or her own insurance company and review their policy’s coverage and restrictions.  As a courtesy to our patients we also can contact your insurance company and go over your benefits with you prior to making your first appointment.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have about your specific company or policy.

What is a Speech-Language or Occupational screening?

Screenings are a series of tasks and questions we use to determine if further assessment is needed. 

What is an evaluation?

An evaluation is a standardized and comprehensive assessment tool that is used to determine specific delays and disorders.   The results of the evaluation will determine if treatment is recommended.

When should I consider having my child tested?

As soon as you suspect any Speech-Language or other Developmental concerns.  Early Intervention is critical and knowing whether your child needs therapy or not; will help give you peace of mind and direction regarding your child’s development.
